Who We Serve


We provide instruction in the teachings of the Catholic Church and sacramental preparation for children in Kindergarten through the 8th Grade. Families must be registered at Ascension Parish.


Receive the Sacraments


First Reconciliation is celebrated in 2nd grade.


First Holy Communion is celebrated in 2nd grade.


Confirmation is celebrated in 8th grade.

PSR offers two sessions:

Sunday: 10:30 am – 11:45 am

Monday: 5:00 pm- 6:15 pm

Sacramental Information

Ascension PSR prepares students to receive the following sacraments:


2nd grade: First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion


8th Grade: Confirmation




First Reconciliation

First Reconciliation will be celebrated the first semester of the 2nd Grade year. The children are prepared during regular PSR classes. In addition, there will be a Reconciliation Enrollment Ceremony. Important dates below:

  • Dress attire for First Holy Communion: White attire is to remind us all of our Baptism. Students will profess their faith and enter into their second step of Christian Initiation.


  • Girls: White dress; Please, no junior bridesmaid dresses; Length is to be below knees; Short sleeves OK however, NO spaghetti straps; Veil is optional; No gloves or purses.


  • Boys: Blue jacket, khaki pants, white shirt and tie. (Several blue jackets have been donated for the intention of lending out -if interested, please email Robin Seiler (rseiler@asc.church) 


Confirmation

Sacrament of Confirmation

 

The Confirmation Prep Classes are aimed at preparing Confirmation candidates specifically for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

They are an addition to other Catholic programs, including PSR and Private Catholic school religion classes.

All 8th grade Ascension School students are welcome. Please contact the PSR to register. 

The following information contains important details and tentative dates for parents, sponsors and 8th grade Confirmation Candidates.

Confirmation Prep Classes are required and candidates must attend one class per week (Tuesday or Wednesday) for a total of eight sessions.

All sessions take place in the MPR (Multi-Purpose Room) from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
