Altar Servers help the priest during the Mass.

Servers:

• Carry the cross
• Carry the processional candles
• Hold the book for the priest celebrant
• Present the bread, wine, and water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts
• Assist the priest when he receives the gifts
• Assist the priest celebrant and deacon, as necessary

Altar servers are:

• Usually 5th to 8th graders
• Trained by Fr. Hambrough (training takes an hour)
• Scheduled every 3 to 4 weeks; servers are expected to serve at all Mass times, not just at the time they usually attend

Schedules are made for three to four months at a time.  The schedule is posted on Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP), and for the coming week in the bulletin. MSP is accessible by website or mobile phone.

For special Masses (weddings, funerals, Easter, Christmas, and Holy Days), requests for servers for these will be made via email.
