The Social Justice commission recently started a plastic recycling program at Ascension. You can find the recycling bins in the entrance to the Main Church. Please read below for tips on what is and isn't recyclable:
All plastics pictured are recyclable, PLUS plastic films labeled with #2 or #4 recycling symbol (polyethylene films), ice bags, wood pellet bags, salt bags, and cereal box liners. If the plastic stretches when you pull it, it is recyclable. If it tears, it is not.
Do NOT include these items:
FROZEN FOOD BAGS, NET OR MESH PRODUCE BAGS, CHIP BAGS, CANDY BAR WRAPPERS, MULCH OR SOIL BAGS, PRE-WASHED SALAD BAGS, PET FOOD BAGS, HOT DOG OR MEAT WRAP PACKAGING, PPE (GLOVES, MASKS, OR PROTECTIVE WEAR), SIX PACK RINGS, VINYL SHOWER CURTAINS OR TABLECLOTHS, BEDDING OR LINEN PACKAGING, LAMINATION FILM, AND DEGRADABLE/COMPOSTABLE BAGS OR FILM PACKAGING
SHINY, CRINKLY FILMS (ie floral wrap) ARE NOT RECYCLABLE
